What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to get it back or have it deleted.
Last updated . This page describes what the Villa Prasino website does. If something here doesn’t match what you’ve seen, please tell us: [email protected].
Who we are
Villa Prasino is let by its owner company, registered in Cyprus as company HE441401. We are the data controller for everything on this site. The villa is in Peyia, Paphos. We don’t publish the street address; guests get it with their booking.
Write to us about anything on this page at [email protected], or on WhatsApp on +357 99 141339.
When you send a booking request
The booking form asks for your name, email address, phone number, the country you’re travelling from, your dates and party, and anything you want to tell us. You can add a package, extras, an arrival time, a flight number and a discount code.
- Why
- To answer your request, quote for your stay and, if you book, host you.
- Our basis
- Taking steps at your request before a contract, and afterwards performing that contract.
- Who sees it
- Us. A copy is emailed to the owner, and a copy of your request back to you.
- How long
- Requests that don’t become bookings: two years, so we recognise you if you come back. Bookings: as long as Cyprus tax law requires us to keep business records.
If you email us, we keep your emails and our replies with your request, so whoever answers can see the whole conversation.
We never sell or share your details with anyone for their own marketing, and we don’t send your details to Airbnb, Booking.com or Simply Owners.
If you join our email list
You can add your email address, and your first name if you like, in the form at the foot of this page, at the end of a guide, or by ticking the box on the booking form.
Nothing is sent until you confirm. We email you one link and add you only when you click it. If you never click, we send you nothing more, and the link stops working after 14 days. We keep the wording you agreed to and the date, which is our proof that you asked.
- Why
- To write to you a few times a year about the villa, quiet weeks and offers.
- Our basis
- Your consent, which you give by clicking the link in that first email.
- Leaving
- Every email has an unsubscribe link, and your email program's own Unsubscribe button works too. Either one takes effect at once, with nothing to fill in.
- How long
- Until you unsubscribe. We then keep a record that you left, so we can't add you again by mistake.
Joining the list is never a condition of booking, and unsubscribing doesn’t stop us emailing you about a stay you’ve booked.
How we measure visits
This site sets no cookies and has no cookie banner. We use no Google Analytics, no advertising pixels and no third-party trackers.
To know which pages are worth writing, we count visits ourselves. Each page view is recorded with the page, the site that sent you, your country, and whether you’re on a phone, a tablet or a computer. To tell one visit from another we make a short code out of your browser’s details and a secret that changes every day, and we keep only that code. Your IP address is used to work it out and is never stored, and yesterday’s code can’t be matched to today’s.
- Why
- To see which pages and which sources bring people to the villa.
- Our basis
- Our legitimate interest in knowing how our own website is used.
- How long
- 13 months, then deleted, so a month can be compared with the same month a year before.
Who else is involved
We keep the site and its data with a small number of suppliers, who act only on our instructions:
- Railway
- Hosting and the database, in the European Union.
- Cloudflare
- Our domain and the network that serves the pages.
- Resend
- Sending our email. It sees the address, subject and contents of each email we send.
- Cloudflare Turnstile
- A spam check on our forms, when it is switched on. It sees that a form was filled in, not what was in it.
If you book through Airbnb, Booking.com or Simply Owners, that platform has its own privacy policy and holds your details as well as us.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it, and you can withdraw consent to our emails at any time. Ask at [email protected] and we’ll answer within a month. We may ask you to confirm you are who you say you are, so we don’t hand your details to someone else.
If you think we’ve got it wrong, you can complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus, or to the authority in the country you live in.
Changes to this page
We update this page whenever the site changes what it collects, and the date at the top is the date of the last change.
