Paphos nightlife is easy to sum up: one street that goes late, a harbour that is busy every evening, an old town with quieter bars, and a lot of long dinners everywhere else. If you are staying near Coral Bay, Paphos, it helps to know which kind of evening you want before you leave the villa, because the places are spread out and the last bus back to Coral Bay leaves before one in the morning.
What Paphos nightlife is like
The evening scene is restaurants, pubs, cafés, nightclubs and lounge bars, roughly in that order. Most evenings out in Paphos start with dinner, which is served from 19:00 until late, and drift on to a bar or two. The late bars and clubs are concentrated in Kato Paphos, the part of town around the harbour.
For a group, the practical question is less "where is good" than "how do we get back". Kato Paphos and the old town are a bus or taxi ride from Coral Bay. Plan the journey home first and the rest follows.
Bar Street, Kato Paphos
The street everyone calls Bar Street is Agiou Antoniou, a paved one-way street in Kato Paphos. Maps label it "Bar street" too, and it has a run of bars, pubs and a couple of nightclubs along it.
This is the loudest, latest part of Paphos, and the crowd is mostly holidaymakers. It suits a birthday night or a group that wants to dance; it does not suit a quiet drink.
We don't name individual bars here. They change hands and names often, and a list would be out of date by next season. Walk the street early in the evening, see which places have the music and the crowd you want, and go back later.
Opening times
Opening days and closing times vary by venue and by season, so don't assume anywhere is open until a particular hour; ask at the bar, and expect fewer places open out of season. If you are coming outside high summer, check the Paphos weather guide for what evenings are like in your month.
The harbour and the seafront
The harbour and its medieval castle are the focal point of Paphos, and the natural place to start an evening: a walk along the water, then dinner or a drink somewhere facing the sea. It is a better choice than Bar Street for a cocktail with a view, a long dinner, or a family evening out.
The square in front of the castle is also a stage. Each year it hosts the Pafos Aphrodite Festival, an open-air opera, and Paphos has an annual jazz festival too. Dates change every year, so check the Visit Pafos events calendar (opens in a new tab) before you travel. Our Paphos harbour and castle guide covers the area by day, and our guide to festivals in Cyprus has the year’s other big dates.
Paphos old town after dark
Up the hill in the old town, the evenings are quieter and more local. There are cafés, bars and restaurants among the restored buildings, and the atmosphere is more conversation than dance floor. It is a good choice for a group that wants a proper meal and a drink without the noise of Kato Paphos.
The municipal market has hosted evening events too: in August 2026 it held a block party from 19:00. Keep an eye on the events calendar for anything similar during your stay, and read our Paphos old town guide for what to see in daylight.
Coral Bay and Peyia: the quieter option
Coral Bay in Cyprus is not a nightlife resort. It has restaurants, fish taverns, cafés, bars and kiosks, with the emphasis on food. There are places for a drink after dinner, but evenings here are mostly about eating out.
Peyia village is quieter still. That is the trade-off of staying up here: quiet nights at the villa, with Kato Paphos within reach when you want a big night. Many groups do both, with one or two nights in town and the rest closer to home.
| Area | Best for | Getting back to Coral Bay |
|---|---|---|
| Bar Street | Dancing, late nights, big groups | Taxi, or 615 bus from Tombs of the Kings |
| Harbour and seafront | Dinner, cocktails, a walk | Taxi, or 615 bus from Tombs of the Kings |
| Old town | Local bars, long dinners | Taxi |
| Coral Bay strip | Dinner and a drink nearby | Taxi |
A plan for a big night
For a birthday or a reunion, a simple pattern works for most groups and keeps everyone together.
- Early evening at the harbour. Walk along the water and have a first drink while it is still light.
- Dinner from about 19:00. Book a table for a group in summer, in Kato Paphos or up in the old town.
- Bar Street later. Agree on a meeting point and a time to leave before anyone heads in.
- Home on the 615 or a booked taxi. Know the last bus time before the night starts, not after it.
If part of the group wants an early night, split the evening: one set takes an earlier bus back to Coral Bay while the rest stay on, and everyone meets at the pool the next morning. Leave the car keys at the villa, and keep the next day slow.
Getting home after a night out
Don't drive. Agree on a driver before you leave, or better, leave the car at the villa and use the bus or a taxi. Our driving in Cyprus guide covers the rules of the road.
The 615 night bus
Pafos Buses route 615 runs between the Tombs of the Kings bus station and Coral Bay, and it keeps going into the night. The 2026 night timetable is:
| Season | From Tombs of the Kings | From Coral Bay |
|---|---|---|
| April to November | Every 20 minutes 18:00–23:40, then 00:15 and 00:40 | Every 20 minutes 18:30–00:10, then 00:40 and 01:05 |
| December to March | Every 30 minutes 18:00–00:00 | Every 30 minutes 18:30–00:30 |
A single ticket costs €2 at the time of writing, or €3 after 21:00, bought on the bus. Check the Pafos Buses timetable (opens in a new tab) before you rely on the last bus, and remember that the bus serves Coral Bay, not the villa's door.
Taxis
Town taxis run 24 hours a day, can be booked by phone or hailed in the street, and must use the meter. A higher night tariff applies from 20:31 to 06:00. Rural taxis, which serve the villages, can only be hired from and to their own base, so book your ride home before the night gets late, especially on a busy summer weekend. Save a taxi number in your phone on the first day.
A night in at the villa
On a big birthday or a reunion, the best night is often the one at home. The villa has an outdoor bar with seating around a fire pit, a hot tub, and a covered games area with a pool table, table tennis, table football and darts. Light the traditional stone BBQ, eat at the covered outdoor dining table, and nobody has to find a taxi. Our Cyprus food guide has ideas for what to cook.

If you are celebrating, ask about a celebration set-up for a birthday or anniversary when you book, and we will price it in your quote. A grocery pre-stock is available on request too, so the fridge is full when you arrive.
Where to stay
Villa Prasino in Peyia sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms, which makes it a good base for a small group that wants a couple of nights in Kato Paphos and the rest at home. There is a 6 × 12 m diving pool, a hot tub, an outdoor bar with fire pit seating, a games area and a traditional stone BBQ. Coral Bay beach is about 5 km away, close enough for dinner out without a big trip. See our villa for celebrations, check availability and rates, and when you have dates for a group trip, send us a booking request and we can tell you what is possible for a celebration.
