There are five golf courses in the Republic of Cyprus, and four of them are in the Paphos district: Aphrodite Hills, Secret Valley, Minthis and Eléa. The fifth, Limassol Greens, is further east. All four Paphos courses have 18 holes and an academy or practice range, so a week is long enough to play each of them once. For a group staying near Coral Bay, Cyprus, that makes Paphos golf an easy holiday to plan.

Aphrodite Hills

Aphrodite Hills, at Kouklia between Paphos and Limassol, opened in 2002 and is the only PGA National course in Cyprus. Cabell Robinson laid it across two plateaus split by a deep canyon, and the course is best known for its 7th: a par 3 played across a 130 m gorge. At 6,289 m it is the longest of the three courses that publish a length.

Visit Cyprus rates the 7th among the most spectacular par 3s in Europe. For practice, the PGA National Golf Academy has 30 bays, a 350 m range and three academy holes. The resort around the course has a five-star hotel, which is handy for lunch after the round. Tee times are booked online.

Secret Valley

Columbia Secret Valley sits in a valley just off the A6 motorway near Aphrodite’s Rock, 18 km east of Paphos and 49 km west of Limassol, with Kouklia the nearest village. The course was designed by Golf and Land Design with signature input from Tony Jacklin. It has Bermuda grass fairways and bentgrass greens, and six tees on each hole, so it adapts to mixed abilities.

At 5,700 m it is shorter than Aphrodite Hills, and the practice facilities are good: a 300 m driving range with 22 covered bays, plus a floodlit three-hole loop for an evening session. The range also has two indoor bays, and there is a pro shop. The course was rebuilt and reopened in 2013. The club hires out clubs, trolleys and buggies. If you play here, combine it with a swim at the rock; our guide to Aphrodite’s Rock has the details.

Minthis

Minthis is the hill course, at Tsada, about 12 km from Paphos. Donald Steel designed it in 1994, and Mackenzie & Ebert later renovated it. It winds past a 12th-century monastery, through olive groves and orchards, with views across to the Troodos Mountains. The 15th is a par 3 to the only island green in Cyprus.

It is par 72 over 5,902 m, with a TrackMan driving range, putting and chipping greens, a three-hole academy course and a pro shop that hires out equipment. Buggies are available to hire. The course lies inside a Natura 2000 area, and the club holds GEO Certified status, an environmental standard for golf courses. If the views make you curious about the higher ground, our Troodos Mountains guide covers a day up there.

Eléa

Eléa Golf Club, designed by Sir Nick Faldo, is at Geroskipou on the edge of Paphos, which makes it the closest of the four to Paphos town. It is an 18-hole, par 71 course with an academy and a golf shop, and it is the venue for the European Golf Association’s senior championship in 2026. Tee times are booked online.

Green fees, buggies and booking

Green fees change, so we don’t print them here: check current rates on each club’s website or by phone before you go, and ask about group or multi-round deals when you book.

  • Buggies: Secret Valley and Minthis both list buggies for hire, and Secret Valley also hires trolleys. In the summer heat a buggy is worth it; ask at the other clubs when you book.
  • Booking: all four take bookings online. If you want early tee times in spring or autumn, book them as soon as your flights are fixed.
  • Dress code: clubs set their own rules, so check before you pack.

A pattern that works for a group: Eléa on the first full day, as it is the nearest to Paphos; Aphrodite Hills and Secret Valley on two days back to back, since they are both near Kouklia; Minthis midweek; and a rest day at the pool or the beach between rounds.

The best months for golf in Cyprus

Golf in Cyprus is a year-round game, but the weather shapes the day. These are the World Meteorological Organization’s 1991–2020 averages for Paphos Airport:

  • Spring (March to May): average highs climb from 19.2 °C in March to 24.9 °C in May, and rain falls away to 11.1 mm for the month. See the April weather guide.
  • Summer (June to September): dry, with an average high of 31.0 °C in August. Book the first tee time of the day and take a buggy.
  • Autumn (October and November): 27.0 °C on average in October and 23.1 °C in November, with the rain coming back late in the season. See the October weather guide.
  • Winter (December to February): mild, around 17.3 °C in January, but the wettest months, with 97.6 mm in December. Expect the odd washed-out day.

For most golfers spring and autumn are the best seasons to play: warm enough for shorts, cool enough to walk.

Taking your clubs on the flight

Check how your airline handles golf clubs before you book. On easyJet, for example, golf clubs count as small sports equipment, up to 20 kg, and that weight is separate from your hold luggage: you can’t share the allowance between your bag and your clubs. Other airlines set their own rules, so read yours, and add the clubs to the booking before you travel.

If you would rather travel light, Secret Valley hires out clubs and the Minthis pro shop hires out equipment. Our flight checker shows which airlines fly to Paphos.
