What March is like
Spring arrives. The average high climbs to 19.2 °C, the rain drops to 34.5 mm and the days get noticeably sunnier, at about 8 hours a day. The sea is still cool, so a pool is the better bet for a swim.
March is the tenth-warmest month of the year in Paphos and the fifth-wettest, with 9% of the year’s rain. By day it’s 1.6 °C warmer than February and 2.6 °C cooler than April.
Relative humidity at the airport averages 70% in March, the same as 70% over the year. These are the averages for Paphos Airport, on the coast 9 metres above the sea; Villa Prasino is in Peyia, on a hillside above the sea at Coral Bay, so take them as a guide to the season rather than a forecast.
What’s open in March
- There are no lifeguards on Coral Bay beach: their season runs from April to October.
- The Kato Paphos archaeological park is on its winter hours, 08:30 to 17:00.
- Heavy winter rain can make the Akamas gorges dangerous: in March 2026 firefighters from Peyia rescued 31 hikers from rising water in the Avakas Gorge, which the Department of Forests had closed in December 2025. Keep out of gorges and dry riverbeds after rain.

For walking and sightseeing, March is a good month: warm rather than hot, with an average high of 19.2 °C. The sea is about 16–17 °C, so most swimmers will prefer a pool.
