What July is like
The sunniest month of the year, with 381.6 hours of sunshine, about 12 hours a day. The average high is 30.4 °C and the low 21.0 °C, and rain is almost unheard of (0.2 mm). Plan beach time for the morning or late afternoon.
July is the second-warmest month of the year in Paphos and the eleventh-wettest, with less than 1% of the year’s rain. By day it’s 2.3 °C warmer than June and 0.6 °C cooler than August.
Relative humidity at the airport averages 74% in July, against 70% over the year. These are the averages for Paphos Airport, on the coast 9 metres above the sea; Villa Prasino is in Peyia, on a hillside above the sea at Coral Bay, so take them as a guide to the season rather than a forecast.
What’s open in July
- Lifeguards are on duty on Coral Bay’s Blue Flag beach.
- The Kato Paphos archaeological park is on its summer hours, open until 19:30.
- On the turtle beaches of Lara and Toxeftra, the summer rules apply from 1 June to 30 September: no umbrellas, no sunbeds and no visits at night.
